The Oka Kapassa – Return to Cold Water Native American Festival will take place in Tuscumbia on September 9-10 in Spring Park, 1 Spring Park Rd (South end of Main St.). Lauderdale County High School Homecoming is Friday, September 16. The administration of LCHS invites all alumni and community members to the Homecoming football game to cheer on the Tigers against the Colbert County Indians that night. Kick-off is at 7pm at the Robert Earl Grisham stadium. Presentation of the elementary Homecoming court will take place at 6:15pm on the football field. Presentation of the 7th-12th Homecoming court and crowning of 2022 Homecoming queen will take place during halftime.
Homecoming festivities will begin on Thursday night with a community bonfire and pep rally. On Friday morning, there will be a Homecoming breakfast in the lunchroom. Tickets may be pre-purchased closer to the event.
The Homecoming parade will begin at 1:15pm. Paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and jugs only (#1 & #2), aluminum cans, and steel cans are all recyclable. Residential curbside cart collection is provided within City of Florence limits. The Florence Recycle Center drop-off is available to everyone, 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Place large, broken-down cardboard boxes 3 feet away from your recycle and garbage carts. Remove all contents from each box before recycling as Styrofoam and plastic film are NOT recyclable.
